Intarsia is a form of woodworking that is similar to inlay. Paul says “After doing various forms of woodworking my whole life, I settled on Intarsia as a craft because it is small and does not require a large shop or a huge inventory of lumber.”
Much like building mosaics or puzzles, wooden pieces are shaped and then assembled together to form an image or design. All colors are used and it is best when paints or stains can be avoided and only the wood's natural colors used to create the image."
