Lory Williams Winford
Lory started her art career in Nashville as a young person visiting her grandmother. She tried different medium but loved the vibrant colors and immediacy of pastels. After a career in education, she moved to Nashville permanently to pursue her passion for pastels!
She is influenced by the Impressionists; their interpretation of subject and the capturing of light. “I have always been drawn by the light and colors in Brown County and strive to bring that into my painting.” As well as her love of the local landscape, she is also influenced by angels and loves to bring forth the ethereal images of those spiritual beings.
Lory enjoys painting plein-air and is involved in local paint outs through Indiana Plein-Air Painters Assoc. and the Upland Plein-Air Painters out of Bloomington. Last year, Lory won 1st place in the T. C. Steele Outdoor Paint-out Contest in mixed media/pastel.
She currently shows her work at Hoosier Artist Gallery and at her home studio/gallery by appointment.
