Exhibit Dates: 12/01 - 12/31
James was born in the art colony of Nashville, Indiana and his exposure to the art of T.C. Steele, Gustav Baumann, and other local masters led to an early awakening of his natural artistic talent. He began study with area artists at the age of 8 and later attended both the University of New Mexico and IU.
James has explored most drawing and painting media but specializes in his oil paintings of rural landscape, still life, and portraiture, winning many awards in prestigious exhibitions including Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts, and the Na- tional Juried Exhibition for Painting and Sculpture at the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
Anabel is practicing a new medium. She calls it : Abstract Fluid Art. Using acrylic paint with additives, flowing paint is placed on the canvas without the use of a brush, creating her bright organic compositions. She creates these colorful paintings in various sizes from small to large.
She is preparing for a large class at the Brown County Winter Wellness Festival and a solo show in Bloomington early next year, both will feature her new style of painting. Anabel is an award-winning painter who has juried her abstract paintings into the Hoosier Salon annual exhibition and the National Abstract Show.
