TORN PAPER BAS-RELIEF IMAGES
Ann work with a product called Color-Aid paper. It is a non-fading paper which has been silk-screened in over 300 different colors.
She also use old watercolor paintings her husband has discarded (yes discarded!)
By tearing these two types of paper she can get this wonderful white edge. For her, creating a bas-relief with paper adds just enough dimension to make it more exiting. She love to draw so that is often the first step. She tear, roll , fold and glue pieces into det final composition. Tearing paper seems to lend itself to organic lines and shapes. Nature is intriguing and inspirational. Framing is essential.
