HOOSIER ARTIST Membership Application Hoosier Artist is a cooperative gallery of fine artists and craftsmen in all mediums. Membership is judged on the uniqueness and quality of sample pieces of work brought in for jury as well as how the work would complement the gallery. To be considered for acceptance, all artwork must be created by the artist, of original design, professionally presented, and exhibit mastery of the medium. Applicants will be called to bring in samples of work in all mediums he/she wishes to be considered. The jury will decide which medium(s) to accept. Applicants must be present and available for questions on the day of the jury. Applicants should live within a 25 mile radius of Nashville, IN. Exceptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

The willingness to participate fully in gallery management and programs is essential. We hold membership meetings a minimum of four times a year, have a Board of Directors, six committees, and four positions. Members are expected to join a committee or otherwise help out as needed. Members must work at least one or two days per month.

When accepted, a member will pay $220 which includes first and last month’s rent of $60 per month and a one-time fee of $100 toward overall gallery expenses. A 10% commission is charged on all gallery sales; there is also a 5% commission on special orders initiated through Hoosier Artist. Indiana sales tax is paid by Hoosier Artist. Changes to the assessments or rent must be approved by a majority of members.
